Regular Season Round 16: Montegranaro - Civitanova 70-75

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Sutor Montegranaro (6-10) lost at home to eighth ranked Civitanova (9-7) 75-70 on Sunday. It was a very good performance for the former international power forward Valerio Amoroso (204-80, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Civitanova players scored in double figures. Michele Caverni (186-96, agency: Agency) replied with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Francesco Villa (183-97) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Sutor Montegranaro. Sutor Montegranaro's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Civitanova moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Lecco. Newly promoted Sutor Montegranaro dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Civitanova will face Porto S.Elpidio (#16) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sutor Montegranaro will play against Faenza (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
