A very close game took place in Cantu between Brindisi and Cantu. Sixth ranked Brindisi (10-7) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Cantu (8-9). Brindisi managed to escape with a 1-point win 93-92 on Sunday evening. Strangely Cantu outrebounded Brindisi 42-27 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American-Israeli Adrian Banks (191-86, college: Arkansas St.) scored 32 points and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Tyler Stone (203-91, college: SEMO) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Wes Clark (183-94, college: Buffalo) with 30 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Jason Burnell (201-97, college: Jacksonville St.) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Cantu players scored in double figures. Brindisi moved-up to fifth place. Cantu at the other side dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Trento and Varese. Brindisi will meet at home Virtus Roma (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cantu will have a break next round.
