Regular Season Round 12: Rishon Le-Zion - Ramat Gan 63-65

The most exciting game of round 12 in the D1 took place in Rishon Le-Zion. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (7-5) to first ranked Maccabi Ramat Gan (10-2) 65-63 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion. Maccabi Ramat Gan forced 19 Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion turnovers. American forward Sidney Cook (188-94, college: Virginia Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Chelsea Nelson (188-96, college: NC State) added 20 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion. Maccabi Ramat Gan have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-2 record. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Ramat Hasharon. Maccabi Ramat Gan are looking forward to face league's second-placed Ramla at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against Petah Tikva and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
