Regular Season Round 26: Guangzhou LL - Shandong GS 95-98

Eighteenth-ranked Long-Lions (5-22) gave a tough game to third ranked Golden Stars (18-9) in Guangzhou. The visitors from Jinan managed to secure only three-point victory 98-95. However their fans expected much easier game. 26 personal fouls committed by Long-Lions helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: UT Martin) orchestrated the victory by scoring 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center HanLin Tao (208-91) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Marcus Georges-Hunt (196-94, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Long-Lions. Long-Lions' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Golden Stars maintains third position with 18-9 record having seven points less than leader Guangdong ST, which they share with Liaoning FL and Beijing RF. Long-Lions lost fifteenth consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth place with 22 games lost. Golden Stars' next round opponent will be Pioneers (#19) in Tianjin which should be an easy win for them. Long-Lions will play at home against Eagles and hope to win that game.
