Regular Season Round 83: LA Clippers - Cleveland C. 128-103
Date: January 14, 2020
Rather expected game in Los Angeles where 5th ranked Cavaliers (12-29) were crushed by second ranked Clippers (28-12) 128-103 on Tuesday. Clippers dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Cavaliers' 48. They outrebounded Cavaliers 53-40 including 39 on the defensive glass. Clippers looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Clippers made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for forward Kawhi Leonard (201-91, college: San Diego St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 43 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Louis Williams (185-86) helped adding 24 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Collin Sexton (191-99, college: Alabama) responded with 25 points and North Macedonian-Turkish forward Cedi Osman (204-95) scored 21 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Clippers maintains second place with 28-12 record having just three point less than leader Milwaukee B. Loser Cavaliers keep the fifth position with 29 games lost.
