Regular Season Round 29: Shimane SM - Kyoto H. 76-79

A very close game took place in Shimane between Kyoto H. and Shimane Magic. Third ranked Kyoto H. (13-16) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Shimane Magic (10-19). Kyoto H. managed to escape with a 3-point win 79-76 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shimane Magic. American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 24 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) added 15 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Shimane Magic in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kyoto H.. They maintain third place with 13-16 record having twelve points less than leader Tochigi B., which they share with Shiga L-Stars. Newly promoted Shimane Magic keeps the sixth position with 19 games lost. Kyoto H. will meet at home league's second-placed Ryukyu GK in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shimane Magic will play against Diamond Dolphins (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
