Very predictable result in Aldeota where second ranked Pinheiros (11-6) smashed 14th ranked SKY/Basquete (3-13) 77-57 on Wednesday. They outrebounded SKY/Basquete 36-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) stepped up and scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international forward Marcus-Vinicius Toledo (201-86) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Center Marcao Vinicius (205-84) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Pro Sports) scored 10 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Pinheiros. Despite that victory Pinheiros went down to fifth position due to points difference. SKY/Basquete lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. Pinheiros will face higher ranked Mogi (#4) in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SKY/Basquete will play at home against Corinthians (#7) and hope to win that game.
