Second Stage Round 6: RGUOR - Brest 57-63

Bottom-ranked RGUOR (0-6) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to eighth ranked Brest (5-10) 63-57 on Wednesday evening. RGUOR trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 23-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 57-63 at the end of the game. Brest dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to RGUOR's 24. They outrebounded RGUOR 54-35 including a 41-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Anton Samusik (198-91) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Dmitriy Shved (200-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Timur Michailov (196-4) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and forward Maksim Alekseev (202-4) added 4 points and 9 rebounds respectively. RGUOR's coach Nikolay Alekseev rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Brest went down to ninth position due to points difference. Loser RGUOR still closes the standings with six games lost. Brest will meet at home higher ranked GOCOR-Sozh (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. RGUOR will have a break next round.
