The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Arabi as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Arabi smashed 7th ranked Qatar Sports Club in Doha 102-83. They outrebounded Qatar Sports Club 49-29 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Arabi looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Qatar Sports Club's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian-Serbian power forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Algerian forward Mohamed Harath (198-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Al Arabi's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Jonathan Lee (188-90, college: Northeastern) answered with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import guard Kevin Bracy-Davis (201-95, college: Davis & Elkins) added 19 points in the effort for Qatar Sports Club. Al Arabi (10-2) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Qatar Sports Club lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with eight games lost. Qatar Sports Club will play next round against Al Rayyan trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena of Al Rayyan. Al Arabi will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Al Ahli. It will be extra interesting game as Al Ahli is their local rival from Doha.
