Regular Season Round 15: Saint-Chamond - Paris 84-83

Fourteenth-ranked Paris (5-9) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Saint Chamond (9-6) on Friday. Saint Chamond managed to secure only one-point victory 84-83. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Paris. Saint Chamond looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (205-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Mathieu Guichard (187-88) helped adding 12 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was center Garry Florimont (202-87) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Sylvain Francisco (180-97) scored 11 points and 8 assists. Four Saint Chamond and five Paris players scored in double figures. Paris' coach Jean-Christophe Prat tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Saint Chamond moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Paris keeps the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Saint Chamond will meet Lille Metropole (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Paris will play against Aix-Maurienne (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
