Regular Season Round 12: Nantes - Hainaut 68-84

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Nantes Reze (2-10) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Hainaut (5-7) 84-68. Hainaut outrebounded Nantes Reze 49-28 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by DR Congolese center Pauline Akonga-Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Aaryn Ellenberg (170-92, college: Oklahoma) supported her with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hainaut players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 4 assists by Belgian Antonia Delaere (180-94) did not help to save the game for Nantes Reze. Turkish point guard Merve Aydin (178-94, agency: Wasserman) added 10 points and 4 assists. Nantes Reze's coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Hainaut maintains eighth position with 5-7 record, which they share with Flammes. Nantes Reze at the other side stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Hainaut's next round opponent will be Charnay (#11) in Charnay-les-Macon. Nantes Reze will play on the road against Montpellier and hope to win that game.
