Regular Season Round 18: Bullets - Hawks 106-77

Date: January 18, 2020
The game with biggest result difference took place in Brisbane. Local Bullets (11-11) outscored 9th ranked Illawarra Hawks (5-18) 106-77. Bullets players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-91, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Matt Hodgson (211-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Five Bullets players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by guard Angus Glover (192-98) did not help to save the game for Illawarra Hawks. The former international swingman Todd Blanchfield (200-91) added 17 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bullets have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with United. Illawarra Hawks lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Bullets' next round opponent will be Adelaide 36ers (#6) in Findon. Illawarra Hawks will play at home against the league's leader Kings and hope to win that game.
