Regular Season Round 15: Dafni - Olympiacos B 80-82

Eighth-ranked Dafni (6-8) gave a tough game to third ranked Olympiacos B (11-4) in Athens on Saturday. The visitors from Pireus managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Olympiacos B made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Dafni helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for guard Andreas Petropoulos (194-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points. Guard Nikos Arsenopoulos (195-0) helped adding 21 points. The best for the losing side was forward Andreas Kanonidis (200-91) with 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Andriano Topalis (190-94) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Dafni's coach Christos Constantinidis tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Olympiacos B maintains third place with 11-4 record having four points less than leader Charilaos TM. Dafni at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Olympiacos B are looking forward to face Tritonas S. (#13) in Athens in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dafni's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Diagoras D..
