There was no surprise in Atlanta where 5th ranked Hawks (10-33) were crushed by third ranked Pistons (16-26) 136-103 on Saturday. Pistons made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Hawks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Hawks' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pistons made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Derrick Rose (190-88, college: Memphis) who scored 27 points and 9 assists. Center Andre Drummond (208-93, college: UConn) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Trae Young (188-98, college: Oklahoma) who recorded 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and guard DeAndre Hunter (201-97, college: Virginia) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Pistons and four Hawks players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pistons maintains third place with 16-26 record having eleven points less than leader Toronto R. Loser Hawks keep the fifth position with 33 games lost.
