Regular Season Round 18: CD Valdivia - Quilicura 104-83

Very expected game when 6th ranked Quilicura (3-19) was crushed on the road by second ranked Deportivo Valdivia (13-10) 104-83 on Saturday. Deportivo Valdivia made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Deportivo Valdivia looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Quilicura was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Argentinian point guard Nicolas Ferreyra (185-85) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Dionte Dixon (178, college: Centralia CC) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Deportivo Valdivia players scored in double figures. Deportivo Valdivia's coach Juan Manuel Cordoba felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American-Jamaican power forward Phil Henry (203-91, college: E.New Mexico) with 31 points and 6 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and American forward Abiodun Adegoke (203-91, college: Midwestern St., agency: Interperformances) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Deportivo Valdivia have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 13-10 record having three points less than leader Puente Alto. Quilicura lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 19 games lost. Deportivo Valdivia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Valdivia to the arena Las Animas.
