Regular Season Round 33: Ibaraki R. - Fukushima 102-70

Everything went according to plan in Mito where third ranked Ibaraki R. (18-15) outleveled 5th ranked Fukushima (10-21) 102-70 on Saturday. Ibaraki R. shot 64.9 percent from the field. Ibaraki R. outrebounded Fukushima 41-25 including a 33-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Ibaraki R. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Five Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. Ibaraki R.'s coach Anthony Garbelotto felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Shuhei Muto (192-91) added 11 points respectively. Ibaraki R. maintains third place with 18-15 record having six points less than leader Shinshu BW. Loser Fukushima keeps the fifth position with 21 games lost. Ibaraki R. will face again Fukushima (#5) at home in the next round.
