We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when twelfth ranked Mantova (6-10) edged on the road 11th ranked Sarcedo (7-9) 67-65 on Saturday. Mantova forced 20 Sarcedo turnovers. Point guard Viviana Giordano (167-89) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Ilaria Bernardoni chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Silvia Viviani (168-1) responded with 15 points and swingman Anna Colombo (175-92) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Sarcedo's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Mantova maintains twelfth place in A2 with 6-10 record. Sarcedo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Mantova will face league's leader Moncalieri at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
