Rather expected game when 8th ranked Capo d'Orlando (6-9) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Piombino (11-5) 73-46 on Saturday. Piombino made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Center Giacomo Eliantonio (205-88) stepped up and scored 7 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and point guard Alessio Iardella (188-88, agency: Players Group) chipped in 13 points. Center Enrico Di-Coste (218-95, college: Northwood) responded with 6 points and 8 rebounds and guard Michael Teghini (192-92) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Piombino moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Monfalcone. Loser Capo d'Orlando keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Piombino will face Cestestica Aquila (#11) in Torrenovese in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Capo d'Orlando will play on the road against Lucca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
