Regular Season Round 20: Dijon - Cholet 97-68
Date: January 18, 2020
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Cholet Basket (12-7) was crushed on the road by third ranked JDA Dijon (16-3) 97-68. JDA Dijon outrebounded Cholet Basket 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by international point guard Axel Julien (184-92) who scored that evening 19 points and 8 assists and Nigerian-American guard Rasheed Sulaimon (193-94, college: Maryland) supported him with 20 points and 5 assists. Even 16 points and 9 assists by American point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT) did not help to save the game for Cholet Basket. Greek power forward Chris Horton (203-94, college: Austin Peay) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Five JDA Dijon and four Cholet Basket players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. JDA Dijon have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 16-3 record behind leader Monaco. Cholet Basket at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Bourg. JDA Dijon will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cholet Basket will play against the league's second-placed ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
