Regular Season Round 27: Kauhajoki - BC Nokia 88-76

There was no surprise when 6th ranked BC Nokia (12-14) was defeated on the road by third ranked Kauhajoki (18-8) 88-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kauhajoki. BC Nokia managed to win third quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kauhajoki dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to BC Nokia's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Cameron Jones (193-89, college: NAU) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 assists. His fellow American import forward Samuel Givens (198-89, college: Drexel) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kauhajoki players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Niko Mattila (192-94) with 31 points and 5 assists and American forward Stacy Davis (199-94, college: Pepperdine, agency: Slash Sports) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Defending champion maintains third place with 18-8 record having four points less than leader Seagulls. Loser BC Nokia dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. Kauhajoki will meet league's second-placed Vilpas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Nokia will play against Kobrat (#11) in Lapua and hope to secure a win.
