Regular Season Round 17: IK Eos - Bankeryds 102-99

Tenth-ranked Bankeryds (1-13) made lots of trouble for second ranked IK Eos (14-3) in Lund. IK Eos managed to secure only three-point victory 102-99. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. IK Eos dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Bankeryds' 32. They outrebounded Bankeryds 36-25 including 18 on the offensive glass. IK Eos players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Guard Joel Svensson (185-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Gustav Sundstrom (197-91) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. IK Eos' coach Xavier Hernandez used entire bench in such tough game. Guard Kristoffer Gronhage (188-92) answered with 30 points and 9 assists and Serbian center Dusan Sisic (206-90) added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Bankeryds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. IK Eos have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-3 record behind leader KFUM Fryshuset. Bankeryds lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. IK Eos will play against Team4Q (#7) in Helsingborg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bankeryds will have a break next round.
