Regular Season Round 18: AB Ancud - Puerto Montt 84-77

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Puerto Montt (11-12) against sixth ranked AB Ancud (10-11) on Saturday night. Visiting Puerto Montt was defeated by AB Ancud in a tough game in Ancud 77-84. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Puerto Montt. American swingman Jovonni Shuler (195-87, college: SSU) scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian Lisandro Rasio (198-90) chipped in 15 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Shuler is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four AB Ancud players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Durrell Summers (196-89, college: Michigan St.) with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import center Gene Teague (206-89, college: Seton Hall) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. AB Ancud have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 10-11 record. Loser Puerto Montt dropped to the fourth place with 12 games lost. AB Ancud will face league's second-placed Universidad de Concepcion on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Puerto Montt will play against CD Puerto Varas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
