No shocking result in a game in Matsuyama where first ranked Shinshu BW (26-6) smashed 3rd placed Orange Vikings (17-17) 96-74 on Saturday. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Shota Watanabe (180-93) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who recorded 27 points and 6 rebounds and American-Irish forward Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shinshu BW maintains first place with 26-6 record. Orange Vikings lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 17 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
