Very expected game in Thessaloniki where 10th ranked Anatolia (5-10) was defeated by fifth ranked Karditsas (9-6) 74-64 on Saturday. Karditsas had a 27-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Panagiotis Ermidis (185-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Dimitris Gravas (203-93) helped adding 22 points. The best for the losing side was Sotiris Karapostolou (195-78, college: S.New Hampshire) with 19 points and point guard Dimitris Geromichalos (185-94, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Anatolia's coach Petros Gaitatzis gave the chance to play for eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Karditsas. They maintain fifth place with 9-6 record, which they share with Psychiko. Newly promoted Anatolia dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Karditsas will face Pagrati (#15) in Athens in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Anatolia will play on the road against Koroivos (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
