The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Perfumerias Avenida as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Perfumerias Avenida defeated 6th ranked Cadi La Seu in Salamanca 71-61. American guard Jewell Loyd (178-93, college: Notre Dame, agency: Wasserman) stepped up and scored 14 points for the winners and her fellow American import swingman Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: UConn) chipped in 11 points. American forward Tinara Moore (190-96, college: Cent Michigan) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Georgina Bahi (190-89) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Perfumerias Avenida (15-2) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Cadi La Seu lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Ensino and Clarinos. Cadi La Seu will play next round against strong Gernika trying to get back on the winning streak. Perfumerias Avenida will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Valencia on the road.
