A very interesting game took place in San Sebastian. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 11th ranked Gipuzkoa UPV (6-11) to ninth ranked Mann Filter (7-10) 62-61 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa UPV. The best player for the winners was American forward Merritt Hempe (190-94, college: Georgia) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Lithuanian guard Kamile Nacickaite (181-89, college: Drexel) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Mann Filter players scored in double figures. Senegalese power forward Oumoul Sarr (185-84) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Brazilian center Erika De-Souza (197-82) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Mann Filter maintains ninth place with 7-10 record, which they share with Promete. Gipuzkoa UPV at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Mann Filter's next round opponent will be higher ranked Clarinos (#8) in San Cristobal and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gipuzkoa UPV will play on the road against Maquinaria Ensino in Lugo and hope to win that game.
