Regular Season Round 33: Kagawa FA - Yamagata 81-59

Rather predictable result in Takamatsu where second ranked Kagawa FA (22-9) outscored 6th ranked Yamagata (8-25) 81-59 on Saturday. Kagawa FA looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who scored 31 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Chris Olivier (202-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and forward Stephen Hurt (211-93, college: Kansas St.) added 11 points and 15 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagawa FA maintains second place with 22-9 record having 2 victories less than leader Shinshu BW. Loser Yamagata keeps the sixth position with 25 games lost. Kagawa FA will face again Yamagata (#6) at home in the next round.
