Regular Season Round 15: Psychiko - Diagoras D. 67-61

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Athens: Psychiko (#6) and Diagoras D. (#2). Psychiko (9-6) won against visiting Diagoras D. (12-3) 67-61. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Diagoras D.. It was an exceptional evening for forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Iakovos Milentigievits (185-97) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Point guard Nikos Liakopoulos (188-83) came up with 20 points and point guard Giorgos Koukas (180-85) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for Diagoras D. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Psychiko moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Karditsas. Diagoras D. at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Psychiko will play against Agriniou (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Diagoras D.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Dafni.
