There was an upset in Santander where higher ranked Estela (11-7) was edged by eleventh ranked Marbella (7-11) 66-63 on Sunday. Marbella forced 19 Estela turnovers. Estela was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Martyce Kimbrough (185-96, college: Findlay, OH, agency: Duran International) who scored 17 points. Point guard Adrian Fuentes (183-87, agency: Promo Sport ID) chipped in 13 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese center Abdoulaye Ndoye (207-95) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Argentinian guard Juan Sutina (192-90, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points respectively. Estela's coach David Mangas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Marbella maintains eleventh position in Silver with 7-11 record. Loser Estela keeps the third place with seven games lost. Marbella will face higher ranked Algeciras (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Estela will play against the league's second-placed Juaristi ISB (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
