Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Virtus Roma (7-11) lost on the road to sixth ranked Brindisi (11-7) 88-81 on Sunday. Brindisi made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Virtus Roma turnovers. Strangely Virtus Roma outrebounded Brindisi 48-34 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Tyler Stone (203-91, college: SEMO) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. American-Israeli Adrian Banks (191-86, college: Arkansas St.) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Four Brindisi players scored in double figures. American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: UConn) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Virtus Roma in the defeat. Brindisi moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Milano. Virtus Roma lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Brindisi will meet higher ranked Brescia (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Virtus Roma will play against Vanoli Cremona (#6) and hope to secure a win.
