NBA
Regular Season Round 88: Denver N. - Indiana P 107-115
Date: January 19, 2020
Very significant was Pacers' (#2, 28-15) victory against top-ranked Nuggets (30-12) 115-107. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Nuggets. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Pacers made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. The winners were led by Lithuanian-American power forward Domantas Sabonis (209-96, college: Gonzaga) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists and guard Malcolm Brogdon (196-92, college: Virginia) supported him with 22 points and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by Serbian center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Nuggets. Will Barton (198-91, college: Memphis) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pacers (28-15) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position having just one victory less than leader Toronto R. Nuggets at the other side still keep top place with 12 games lost. They share the position with LA Clippers. Pacers will play against league's second-placed Jazz in Salt Lake City in the next day and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nuggets will play on the road against Timberwolves in Minnesota and hope to get back on the winning track.
