Regular Season Round 14: Korikouvot - LoKoKo Bisons 74-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked LoKoKo Bisons' (10-4) road victory over 3rd ranked Korikouvot (8-5) in Kouvola 82-74 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-74. LoKoKo Bisons dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Korikouvot's 28. LoKoKo Bisons had a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Joshua Wilchombe (203, college: OKWU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 24 rebounds. The other American import forward DeSean Parsons (201, college: Portland St.) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Wilchombe is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four LoKoKo Bisons players scored in double figures. Forward Henri Permanto (197-1) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Joel Mantynen (197-2) added 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Korikouvot. LoKoKo Bisons maintains second position in Division with 10-4 record having four points less than leader Tapiolan Honka. Loser Korikouvot dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. LoKoKo Bisons will face Pyrinto Ak.A (#8) in Tampere in the next round where they are favorite. Korikouvot will play on the road against ToPo Juniorit (#5) in Helsinki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
