We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Malaga where one of their biggest challengers Lima-Horta (9-5) was defeated by fifth ranked Unicaja (9-5) 78-70 on Sunday. Unicaja outrebounded Lima-Horta 40-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Unicaja made 7 blocks. Senegalese center Bineta NDoye (196-93) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Guard Eliana Soriano (176-89) responded with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and center Paula Tutusaus (186-90) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unicaja have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with Barca CBS and Lima-Horta. Unicaja will face league's leader Sant Adria on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Lima-Horta will play against Almeria and hope to win that game.
