Regular Season Round 18: Temuco - CDU Catolica 80-55

There was a minor upset when second-best Universidad Catolica (12-13) was outplayed on the road by fifth ranked Temuco (11-13) 80-55 on Sunday. Temuco forced 26 Universidad Catolica turnovers. American swingman Alssene Saintilus (201-93, college: Bloomsburg) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and South African forward Pieter Prinsloo (208-92, college: Marist, agency: Promo Sport ID) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Temuco players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard DJ Ursery (193, college: Alaska-Anch.) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Steffphon Pettigrew (196-89, college: WKU, agency: HMS) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Temuco have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Universidad Catolica keeps the second position with 13 games lost. Temuco will face CD Castro (#5) at home in the next round. Universidad Catolica will play against Quilicura and hope to win that game.
