Important game to mention about took place in Phoenix. Fourth ranked Spurs (19-23) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Suns (18-25) 120-118 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Suns. Spurs made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Suns outrebounded Spurs 43-31 including 35 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 54.8 percentage. Spurs players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Swingman DeMar DeRozan (201-89, college: USC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Derrick White (196-94, college: Colorado) contributed with 25 points and 7 assists for the winners. Spurs' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Devin Booker (198-96, college: Kentucky) answered with 37 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Bahamas center DeAndre Ayton (216-98, college: Arizona) added 25 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Suns. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Spurs maintains fourth place with 19-23 record. Suns at the other side keep the third position with 25 games lost.
