Regular Season Round 14: Rishon Le-Zion - Bnot Hertzeliya 82-66

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (4-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (9-5) 82-66. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Bnot Hertzeliya's 40. They outrebounded Bnot Hertzeliya 48-23 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated also this game. Forward Chelsea Nelson (188-96, college: NC State) notched a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Sidney Cook (188-94, college: Virginia Tech) supported her with 25 points and 15 rebounds. Even 29 points and 5 rebounds by guard Lexie Brown (175-94, college: Duke, agency: Wasserman) did not help to save the game for Bnot Hertzeliya. Guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA) added 20 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion moved-up to third place, which they share with Ashdod. Bnot Hertzeliya lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion's next round opponent will be Ramat Hasharon (#5) on the road. Bnot Hertzeliya will play against the league's second-placed Ramla (#2) and hope to win that game.
