Ninth-ranked Al Sadd (1-13) gave a tough game to first ranked Al Shamal (11-3) in Doha on Tuesday. Al Shamal managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The former international power forward Emir Mujkic (210-97) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Aaron Mitchell (188-89, college: Longwood) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. American guard JuanYa Green (188-92, college: Hofstra, agency: 3Eye) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Al Sadd players scored in double figures. Al Shamal have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-3 record. Al Sadd at the other side stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Al Shamal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Qatar Sports Club.
