Regular Season Round 7: Panteras - Caballos 85-98

An interesting game for Caballos (6-1) which played road game in Panama City against their biggest opponent Panteras (6-2). First ranked Caballos managed to get a 13-point victory 98-85. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Panteras. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Caballos brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American-Puerto Rican forward Angel Matias (193-92, college: Georgia South) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 7 rebounds. Dominican center Miguel Evangelista (210-91) helped adding 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Caballos players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-94) responded with 22 points and 8 assists and swingman Alejandro Grant (199-93) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caballos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Panteras at the other side keep the second position with two games lost.
