There was no surprise in Ramat Hasharon where 14th ranked Hasharon (2-12) was defeated by seventh ranked Elitzur Yavne (8-6) 96-89 on Tuesday. Elitzur Yavne made 30-of-39 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Hasharon was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Canadian-Jamaican guard Daniel Mullings (189-91, college: N.Mexico St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Four Elitzur Yavne players scored in double figures. American forward Tyrell Nelson (201-95, college: Gardner-Webb) produced a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and point guard Oded Shaashoua (186-82) added 9 points and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Elitzur Yavne moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kiryat Motzkin and H.Galilee. Hasharon lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Elitzur Yavne will face H.Ramat Gan (#11) in Givataim in the next round where they are favorite. Hasharon will play on the road against Ironi Ashkelon and hope to win that game.
