Regular Season Round 18: Pogon RS - Bielsko-Biala 101-69

There was no surprise in Ruda Slaska where 10th ranked Bielsko-Biala (6-11) was outplayed by sixth ranked Pogon RS (9-7) 101-69 on Wednesday. Pogon RS dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Bielsko-Biala's 44. Pogon RS forced 20 Bielsko-Biala turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Bielsko-Biala's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pogon RS made 7 blocks. Center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Patryk Jelen (183-90) chipped in 15 points, 7 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Pogon RS maintains sixth position in Group C with 9-7 record. Loser Bielsko-Biala dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. Pogon RS will face Unia Tarnow (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bielsko-Biala will play against the league's leader Wisla Krakow (#1) and hope to win that game.
