Regular Season Round 19: WKK Wroclaw - AZS PO 92-90

Twelfth-ranked AZS PO (5-11) gave a tough game to second ranked WKK Wroclaw (13-4) on Wednesday. WKK Wroclaw managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90. However their fans expected much easier game. WKK Wroclaw looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was a great evening for the former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Jakub Koelner (183-93) helped adding 16 points and 9 assists. WKK Wroclaw's coach Tomasz Niedbalski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Tomasz Ochonko (183-86) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and point guard Adam Skiba (180-99) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. WKK Wroclaw have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-4 record behind leader Gornik Walbrzych. Newly promoted AZS PO dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. WKK Wroclaw will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. AZS PO will play at home against Sokol Lancut (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
