The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked KK Zadar (15-2) in Sinj on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Alkar (8-9) 93-84. It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of KK Zadar. Alkar made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Swingman Ivan Kucan (192-96) stepped up and scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Gabriel Maric (203-99) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Dominik Mavra (195-94) responded with 20 points and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American guard Bryon Allen (193-92, college: GMU) scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KK Zadar's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Alkar moved-up to seventh place. KK Zadar at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Alkar are looking forward to face Dubrava (#10) in Zagreb in the next round. KK Zadar will play at home against Sibenik (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
