Regular Season Round 8: Piestanske C. - UBI Graz 74-27

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Piestany. First ranked Slovakian Piestanske C. faced 4th ranked Austrian UBI Graz. Host Piestanske C. (6-1) smashed guests from Graz (0-5) 74-27. Piestanske C. dominated down low during the game scoring 32 of its points in the paint compared to UBI Graz's 12. Piestanske C. forced 33 UBI Graz turnovers and outrebounded them 38-21 including a 17-0 advantage in offensive rebounds. Piestanske C. players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by UBI Graz's players. Forward Katarina Tetemondova (188-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 6 rebounds. Croatian point guard Matea Tadic (167-99) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Piestanske C.'s coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Camilla Neumann (182-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and Nina Krisper (179-1) added 7 points in the effort for UBI Graz. Piestanske C. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-1 record. Defending Austrian champion UBI Graz still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Slovanka MB. Piestanske C. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UBI Graz will play at home against the league's second-placed Kangoeroes (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
