Regular Season Round 15: PuHu Juniorit - Westside ET 65-63

There was no surprise in Vantaa where 10th ranked Westside ET (4-11) was edged by fifth ranked PuHu Juniorit (9-6) 65-63 on Wednesday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great evening for swingman Samatar Abokar (190-1) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Joni Salmi (190-1) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Sami Marouf (188-88) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Roope Kinnunen (198-91) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. PuHu Juniorit maintains fifth place in Division with 9-6 record. Loser Westside ET keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. PuHu Juniorit will face higher ranked Raholan Pyrkiva (#3) in Tampere in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Westside ET will play at home against the league's second-placed PeU-Basket (#2) and hope to win that game.
