Regular Season Round 18: AZS Start 2 - Stal SW 111-65

Bottom-ranked Stal SW (0-16) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 16th consecutive match to third ranked AZS Start II (14-3) 111-65 on Wednesday evening. AZS Start II dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Stal SW's 30 and made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while Stal SW only scored eight points from the stripe. AZS Start II forced 21 Stal SW turnovers and outrebounded them 41-24 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Stal SW's players. Guard Bartlomiej Pelczar (186-0) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 assists and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Adam Mysliwiec (200-90) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five AZS Start II players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Damian Tabor (186-98) with 13 points and 6 rebounds and guard Mateusz Labuda (183-83) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS Start II have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Radom II. Loser Stal SW still closes the standings with 16 games lost. AZS Start II will have a break next round. Stal SW will play on the road against Zubry (#4) in Bialystok and hopes to get finally their first victory.
