Regular Season Round 19: Sokol Lancut - Miasto Szkla 92-89

Sixth-ranked Miasto Szkla (8-8) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Sokol Lancut (12-5). Sokol Lancut managed to secure only three-point victory 92-89. However their fans expected easier game. Sokol Lancut made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Miasto Szkla outrebounded Sokol Lancut 34-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. Miasto Szkla was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Piotr Wieloch (182-94) who led the winners and scored 25 points (made all of his seven free throws). Power forward Maciej Klima (203-82) accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Sokol Lancut's coach Dariusz Kaszowski allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Marcin Dymala (187-90) came up with 20 points and 6 assists and forward Alan Czujkowski (199-90, agency: Promotex) added 20 points respectively for Miasto Szkla in the defeat. Five Sokol Lancut and four Miasto Szkla players scored in double figures. Sokol Lancut have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with STK Czarni. Miasto Szkla lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Sokol Lancut will play against AZS PO (#13) in Opole in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Miasto Szkla will play at home against GKS Tychy (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
