Regular Season Round 28: Kobrat - BC Nokia 65-81

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked BC Nokia (13-14) beat 11th ranked Kobrat (8-19) in Lapua 81-65. It looked good early as Kobrat took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then BC Nokia had a 20-13 second period charge getting the lead and Kobrat was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-81. They outrebounded Kobrat 44-33 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. BC Nokia players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American guard Demarcus Holland (193-94, college: Texas) fired 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. The other American import forward Stacy Davis (199-94, college: Pepperdine, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Holland is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four BC Nokia players scored in double figures. BC Nokia's coach Greg Gibson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Reggie Keely (204-91, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91, agency: Blacktop Management) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. BC Nokia moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Kataja. Kobrat lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 19 games lost. BC Nokia's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Vilpas in Salo and it may be quite challenging game. Kobrat will play on the road against Kouvot (#8) in Kouvola and hope to win that game.
