Regular Season Round 18: TLU/Kalev - Kalev/Cramo 89-99
Date: January 22, 2020
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tallinn: Kalev/Cramo (#3) and TLU/Kalev (#11). TLU/Kalev was defeated at home 89-99. Kalev/Cramo made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by TLU/Kalev helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international forward Janari Joesaar (198-93, college: UTRGV) notched 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American-Puerto Rican guard Kyle Vinales (186-92, college: CCSU, agency: 011 Sports) supported him with 20 points. Kalev/Cramo's coach Roberts Stelmahers used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) by American center Michael Buchanan (212-94, college: USC Upstate) did not help to save the game for TLU/Kalev. Latvian swingman Mareks Jurevicus (197-85) added 19 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kalev/Cramo (17-3) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain third position behind leader VEF Riga. TLU/Kalev lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Kalev/Cramo's next round opponent will be Liepaja (#14) at home which should be an easy win for them. TLU/Kalev will play against Ventspils and hope to win that game.
