Very significant was Mavericks' (#1, 28-16) victory against 4th ranked Trail Blazers (19-27) 133-125. Mavericks players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by Slovenian guard Luka Doncic (201-99) who scored that evening 27 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and Latvian power forward Kristaps Porzingis (221-95) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Even 47 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by point guard Damian Lillard (190-90, college: Weber St.) did not help to save the game for Trail Blazers. Carmelo Anthony (203-84, college: Syracuse) added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Four Mavericks and five Trail Blazers players scored in double figures. Mavericks maintains first position with 28-16 record. Trail Blazers at the other side keep the fourth place with 27 games lost.
