Regular Season Round 35: Ibaraki R. - Yamagata 95-73

Everything went according to plan in Mito where third ranked Ibaraki R. (21-15) outscored 6th ranked Yamagata (8-28) 95-73 on Friday. Ibaraki R. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Swingman Josei Maniwa (193-86) helped adding 19 points and 7 assists. Four Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. American forward Stephen Hurt (211-93, college: Kansas St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Chris Olivier (202-92, college: Oklahoma St.) scored 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ibaraki R.. They maintain third place with 21-15 record having three points less than leader Shinshu BW. Yamagata lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 28 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
